Where is it?

Dare Valley Country Park, GR SN974028. Access via Cwmdare only.

The Terrain

Steep sided valley with good path network at bottom and mixed rough moorland, woodland and mine workings higher up. Bracken although widespread higher up is generally flattened and runnable.
Directions

From the S. Take the A4059 to Aberdare from the A470. Follow the A4059 past the signs for Aberdare town centre on the Aberdare by-pass until you get to a roundabout signposting Trecynon, B4276 Left. Take this and continue for 500m until a T junction. Turn Right. 500m further on turn Left signposted Cwmdare. Continue for 2km through Cwmdare and past the 1st carpark which is next to the Rd and take the next turning Left into the park. There is no access via Aberdare town centre and the usual entrance by the park buildings.

Facilities

The park centre is being redeveloped and the toilets and café are closed at the time of writing. Temporary facilities may be open by the time of the event but cannot be guaranteed
