Instructions for Newcomers to Orienteering

You may have picked up an event flyer which have been distributed locally between Brecon and Abergavenny. We hope you can come along to have a go at orienteering.

Help - At the event someone wearing an “Ask Me” jacket will be able to give you advise.

Required Equipment – any running or walking shoes, a waterproof, and if you have them a whistle and a compass.

Pre-entry - All the maps are pre-printed. Since the maps cost approximately £1 each to print, we only printed a limited number of spares. To avoid disappointment it will help if you pre-enter via the Fabian4 Online Entry site as detailed below.

Which course? – Newcomers should enter the Yellow (Easy) or Orange (Harder).

Enter as a family – Families may wish to go around together or in pairs. Please pre-enter just 1 or 2 individuals. Spare maps will be available at £1 each so that you all get a map. Please indicate the number of spare maps you require in the special request box in step 3 of the Entry process.

Questions – if you have any questions please contact the organiser Adrian Moir adrian.moir@btconnect.com or on 07775 781549.
