Welcome to South Wales Orienteering Club!
We are delighted that you are considering joining the South Wales Orienteering Club. We are a friendly and family orientated club and welcome orienteers of all standards and any age, from beginners to advanced. SWOC is affiliated to British Orienteering, who are the National Governing Body for the sport of orienteering in the United Kingdom - formed in June 1967. When joining SWOC, you automatically become a member of British Orienteering to benefit from discounted entry to orienteering events, participation in any British Championships, entry to the UK rankings scheme as well as receiving the quarterly glossy orienteering magazine. There are two types of membership to British Orienteering - Local (LBM) and National (NBM). Please see here for more information on the differences. (This will open in a new browser window). South Wales Orienteering Club Membership Fees: Year 2011
* £ 1 discount is available when the fee is paid by direct debit. Family1 – 2 persons required (1 adult min, 2 adults max) Fees: Club fee: This incorporates both the SWOC (South Wales Orienteering Club) and WOA (Welsh Orienteering Association) membership fee. Newcomers are defined as those who have not been a member of any orienteering club and/or British Orienteering in the last 3 years (claimable once only). For new members joining after 1st September, their membership fee covers the 16-month period until the end of the following calendar year. Students in full time education may join at the junior rate. Please enclose proof of status with your application. Membership generally gives a £ 2 discount on every event entered.
