Welsh League Event - Kingswood near Monmouth

(& Cwpan Y Ddraig & Yvette Baker Trophy Heat)

Date – Sunday 23rd April

 

Car Parking: Linear parking along forest roads. Forest entry off the A4233 near The Hendre at SO461146 (nearest Post Code NP25 5SX). Signposted from junction with B4347 at Rockfield.

 

Map: 1:10,000 5m contours from Dec 2013 with minor updates.

 

Courses will be pre marked and on waterproof paper.

Brown                7.5km     380m

Blue                  5.7km      240m

Green                3.9km       140m

Short Green      2.9km       115m

Light Green       3.0km       110m

Orange               2.5km         90m

Yellow                 2.1km         70m

 

Terrain is mixed woodland, with significant path network.  Hilly with some steep slopes. All course lengths / climb subject to final controlling.

 

Punching: SI electronic punching: Pre booked hire SI cards can be collected from the registration / enquiries tent. Cards will also be available to hire on the day from registration / enquiries at a cost of £1 (free for juniors). Lost or unreturned cards will be charged at £30.

 

Entry: Pre Entry via Fabian4. EOD subject to map availability.

Up to 9th April Senior £9 / Junior £4.50 / Senior on Orange and Yellow £6

10th April and after Senior £11 / Junior £5.50 / Senior on Orange and Yellow £7

Non BOF member supplement on all courses except Orange and Yellow (Seniors £2 / Juniors £1)

Registration: This will be open between 10.00 and 12.00 and starts will be between 10:30 and 12:30.  

 

Start / Finish: The start and finish are approximately 500m+40m climb from the assembly, which is on the forest road bend at SO478132

 

Safety: All competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. The carrying of whistles is strongly recommended. Dogs are permitted, under control, please! You must report to Download even if you retire. Failure to do so will result in the triggering of search procedures involving considerable time and resources.

 

Facilities: First Aid. Portaloos at assembly.
